Section 1:   Welcome!

Debbie and I want to say welcome to the

world of Japanese Green Tea. We came to

know (and love) green tea by accident -

perhaps you did too.

Our story started like this:

We were at a Farmers Market like the one

we have at the Ellenton Farmers Market. One

of the vendors at the market was Tony Gordon

and his wife Izumi Haraki.

Yep, you guessed it – they were selling their

Haraki-Gordon Green tea. Frankly, I kinda

just took a glance and was ½ way to the next

tent but Debbie was already talking with Izumi.

I doubled back and saw Debbie forking over

$25.00 for a ‘bottle’ of tea and I was confused…

Tea in a bottle (?)  - and costing $25.00? (!)

Well as it turned out you get a
LOT of cups of tea out of one of those little bottles!

More importantly; Debbie’s quality of life was

about to take a big step forward. Not to get too

personal, but Debbie seemed to have a VERY

‘Angry’ stomach & digestive system.

That angry stomach was also acting up quite a bit,

and often interfered with Debbie’s day.

Since humans ‘got to eat’ (like the folks at Checkers

like to say) you can see that this was an ongoing

problem  - and sometimes quite painful.

To make a long story short – once Debbie’s started

drinking the Haraki-Gordon Green Tea she’s not had

any of those problems since! That’s what I’d call a

green tea benefit!

What ‘price’ can you assign to that? It’s hard to

say – and each person values their health a little

differently – but to us (and especially Debbie) you

simply can NOT underestimate the ‘benefit’ we’ve

found in using Haraki-Gordon Green tea.

That’s especially true because we know Debbie is

consuming a REAL ‘food’ so the only green tea side

effects has been better health!

As you likely know – EVERY single drug/prescription

in the world has side effects – which are often worse

than the symptoms.

Green Tea is NOT a replacement for a good Doctor

and proper medication when called for – but it is an

amazing ‘food’ that has been used for over 4,000

years for medicinal purposes.

That’s saying something.

Since then we’ve both become real advocates of

green tea – especially QUALITY green tea. That’s because

as we’ve mentioned – even if you experience only one

green tea benefit and the only green tea side effects seem

to a better quality of life -then why not treat yourself right?

Unfortunately for most – is still very hard to find top quality

green tea here in the states.

Needless to say – Debbie and I are looking to change

all that – and we’re delighted you found us! If you

continue to drink your Haraki-Gordon green tea

a few times daily – we feel you’ll also be VERY

happy you found us as well.

Again – Welcome!

Section 2:   What’s so Special about Green Tea?

I recently did a Google search online for

‘green tea research’. I expected to find

quite a few pages but was floored by the

number of pages that did:

Over 3,300,000 pages!

No don’t worry; – I’m not going to try and fit

all of that research into a single newsletter – but

it should give you a sense that there’s lots of

research to back up what people have thought

and experienced by drinking green tea for themselves.

If we were to point out the biggest ‘hero’ ingredient

that’s in high quality green tea – it would be EGCG.

      That’s short for: Epigallocatechin Gallate.

EGCG is actually a Super Hero in the anitoxidant

World.

How’s this for Antioxidant power:

·        EGCG is 25 times as powerful as Vitamin E

·        EGCG is 100 times more powerful than Vitamin C

·        And it’s TWICE as powerful as current media darling Resveratrol.

    Section 3.      A fascinating story…

Over 800 hundred years ago in 1191 AD, a Monk visited
China to further his studies in Buddhism.

This monk returned to Japan and started what is now
known worldwide as ‘Zen Buddhism’. His name was Eisai Myoan.
While in China, Eisai Myoan grew extremely impressed by
what he learned about green tea. That led him to bring tea
plant seeds back to Japan – and even write an entire book
titled Kissa Yojoki (Drinking Tea for Health), which
advocated tea as a general restorative:

Here’s a passage from that book by Eisai:

In the great country of China they drink tea, as a result
of which there is no heart trouble and people live long lives.
Our (Japan) country is full of sickly looking, skinny persons,
and this is simply because we do not drink tea. . . .

When the whole body feels weak, devitalized and depressed,
it is a sign that the heart is ailing. Drink lots of tea, and one’s
energy and spirits will be restored to full strength.         Eisai Myoan

I thought that was fascinating – I hope you did too!

Section  5.    What’s new at the Ellenton Farmers Market

Well the ‘word’ about Ellenton Farmers market is gradually
spreading despite the summer heat. Speaking of which – we
certainly appreciate you sharing the news that the market is
open for business. Bring a friend and have some fun while
you renew your friendships.
New people are discovering the many wonderful vendors
we have there. We’re expecting to at least double the number
of vendors over the coming months so you’ll want to continue
to stop by on a regular basis.
We’ve switched to ‘Summer Hours’ for a couple months
(which are from
8Am -
12 noon).

This week Radio Station WLSS will be doing a ‘Live
Remote’ broadcast from the market from
9:30-11:30
AM . Radio Host Rochelle Herman will be with us live!
We now have golf cart to help people move back and forth
to the nearby parking lot.

How cool, is that!

The Bradenton Herald has come on as a sponsor to help
pay for some of the odds and ends that come to with the
territory of running a Farmers Market.
We’re happy to have them.
Ok folks – that’s it for this month. Stay tuned for our next
issue – and if you like what we’re doing her forward this
Newsletter to your friends!

Warmest Regards,

John  & Debbie
