Green Tea Weight Loss

Green Tea and weight loss go hand in hand. Green tea is a powerful tool for those working on weight loss. This one feature has made green tea more popular than ever.

Recently, there is more evidence and research that has been completed to confidently say that green tea should be the beverage of choice to help you with your Weight Management programs.

Green tea powder and fat burning seem to go hand and hand because  powdered green tea offers the body in far greater qualities of the goodness green tea is famous for!

Green tea contains powerful antioxidants; on of them in particular epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG for short) has been found to boost the metabolism thereby speeding up weight loss. EGCG stimulates the central nervous system and causes fat to be released into the blood stream and then the body burns the fat as fuel.

Although caffeine alone can stimulate the metabolism this way, it’s important to note that researchers found that the combined ingredients of green tea were much more effective at this process than just caffeine by itself.

Research by Japanese and others suggest that if the average person were to drink five cups of green tea a day, they would burn an extra 70 to 80 extra calories through an effect known as ‘thermogenesis’.

Thermogenisis refers to energy used in heat production that is not related to resting metabolism or physical activity These studies show people drinking green tea had higher thermogenesis than those taking the equivalent amount of caffeine without green tea catchetins.  Catchetins that exist in green tea produce green tea’s thermogenesis fat burning effects.

There have been numerous scientific and medical studies done on green tea fat burning relationship and how this enhances weight loss. You don’t have to look too hard to find them. I am adding a couple of those studies here.

A Japanese Human Study
Thirty-eight healthy Japanese men were divided into two groups and fed the same diet. One group consumed a bottle of tea containing 690 mg catechin antioxidants per day. After 12 weeks, body weight, BMI, waist circumference, body fat mass, and subcutaneous fat area were significantly lower in the green tea extract group than in the control group.

So far scientists have not found evidence that consuming a large volumes of tea daily help more than drinking the suggested 3 – 8oz servings we normally recommend. Put in scientific terms :dose-dependent relationship is not well established.

It is obvious that there is emerging evidence that the drinking green tea over time will be important. The longer you drink it, the longer green tea will burn fat. By using green tea powder the body is able to absorb even more of the magic GT offers.
